15 Jul H2MARINE Hosts Successful Online Training on Advanced PEM Fuel Cell Testing
On July 9th 2026, our project successfully hosted an online training webinar, with more than 50 participants, on “Accelerated Stress Testing for PEM Fuel Cells in Maritime Applications with Multichannel Potentiostat and Multi-single Cell.”

The webinar was delivered by Amina Alimbekova, Research Scientist at VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland, and Dr. Jari Ihonen, Principal Scientist at VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland, who shared their expertise on innovative testing methodologies designed to improve the durability assessment of PEM fuel cells for maritime applications.
As hydrogen-powered vessels require fuel cells capable of operating reliably under demanding maritime conditions, the session highlighted how Accelerated Stress Testing (AST) can efficiently evaluate degradation mechanisms while reducing testing time.

Participants gained insights on:
-Maritime PEMFC operational voltage profiles and their impact on fuel cell degradation.
-High-throughput Accelerated Stress Testing (AST) methodologies.
-Advanced testing using Multichannel Potentiostat and Multi-single Cell systems.
-Simultaneous analysis of up to eight membrane electrode assemblies (MEAs).
-Innovative approaches to improving durability assessment and accelerating the development of reliable PEM fuel cell technologies for the maritime sector.

We would like to thank our speakers for their presentations and all participants for joining the session and contributing to the engaging initiative.
