18 Jul The H2MARINE project at the 3rd Hydrogen Summer ScH2ool
The H2MARINE project was recently featured at the 3rd Hydrogen Summer ScH2ool, held from 7th to 11th of July 2025 at the University of Western Macedonia in Kozani. This five-day event brought together students and experts from across the hydrogen sector to explore the entire hydrogen value chain and its role in the clean energy transition.

Dr. Kyriakos Panopoulos, coordinator of the H2MARINE project and representative of CERTH, took part in the event by presenting the project’s objectives and key innovations in hydrogen-based energy storage systems. He also contributed to the demonstration of technologies developed by CERTH, showcasing their potential applications in the energy and maritime sectors. As part of the programme, a study visit to the Agkistron Energy Park in Serres was also organised. During the visit, Dr. Panopoulos showcased a hydrogen fuel cell system, further demonstrating the practical implementation of hydrogen technologies and their potential to support a green energy future.

The initiative was organised by the Cluster of Bioeconomy and Environment of Western Macedonia (CluBE) and Advent Technologies, in collaboration with the University of Western Macedonia (UoWM), the Lifelong Learning Center (KEDIVIM) of UoWM, the Centre for Research and Technology Hellas (CERTH), and with the support of the Region of Western Macedonia. The programme was implemented under the European project Green Skills for Hydrogen (ERASMUS+), in cooperation with the i-STENTORE project.

Many thanks to the organisers and partners for creating a meaningful platform to exchange expertise, promote research, and empower the next generation of hydrogen professionals.
